The Third Church of Christ, Scientist in Washington DC is a branch of the Christian Science church network (headquartered in Boston, MA). With services on Sunday and Wednesday, a Sunday school, various community events and a new building project scheduled to be completed in 2016, there is lots of information that the church would like to share on its website.

I started out by streamlining existing content on the site, then finding and customizing an appropriate theme (coincidentally named Church, a child theme of Omega). Being a primarily urban organization, the board wanted an urban feel and good mobile usability. I tapped one of my favorite WordPress plugins WPTouch for easy mobilization, and the rest fell into place pretty smoothly.

2018 UPDATE:

In 2016, Third Church merged with First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Washington DC and the resulting organization kept the numeric designation of “first”. Consequently I migrated the original www.thirdchurchdc.org to www.firstchurchdc.org.
